On cats, mice, and dresses.

I know, I know.... It has been months, no ages since my last post.

Life seems to have been moving at the speed of light lately.  One of the reasons I was going to blog in the first place was to help me reflect on the things happening around me.

Well, its spring around here and it is absolutely beautiful this year.   Maybe I am just taking the time to notice it a little more, or maybe because it has stopped raining for more than just a few hours.

This winter the girls in the Velkuv family started a project centered around an interest my mom has had for a very long time and combined it with my obsession with Etsy and Pinterest.   As a result, Cat&Mouse Clothing Boutique was born. The shop is now stocked with about 20 items, and we had our first few sales!  I am thrilled to share these with the world.

So what's different here?  Why would anyone care about this?  We noticed that a lot of children's clothing is either really dressed up or very casual.  So here is a line of girl's dresses that are in between.  They are inspired by our own playful childhoods, quality, and European children's designs.

So here are a few of my personal favorites from the Cat&Mouse Children's Clothing Boutique.   I might share a few more as new items come up.    Also, isn't the model the most adorable little girl ever?!

Guys, thanks so much for reading, and I hope to post more soon.

Portland, OR

Just a few photos of my favorite town.  Only after loading the pics into this post, I realized that each one has a bridge in it.  What can I say, we have a lot of them.

Skyline with a view of the Convention Center.

Hawthorne Bridge, I love watching people in public spaces.  The waterfront is one of the most entertaining of them  in Portland; with people of all backgrounds and classes enjoying the city in one place.

Playing in the fountain on a warm day.  Oh summer, how we have waited for you!

Under the St. John's bridge.  Love the exposed metal.

St. John's bridge, view from Cathedral park.

Took this one with Instagram, might be my favorite of them all.

Been thinking about vacationing lately. Desperately need a break from the fluorescent lights, traffic, and deadlines.    It must be the summer weather that has finally came around our way.   A day trip to the beach will suffice for now.  Anyone want to come with?  72

Mesh, harem pants, and cut offs

It has been a couple of months since my last post, and I must publish another list of items to avoid this summer.

1. Mesh. Especially with your underwear showing through.  If the the closest body of water is more than 20 yards away; cover up your undergarments.  Source: Forever21.com

2. Cut off or cut out shirts.  Those should safely reside in the 80s and 90s along with rompers. Let them rest there peacefully please.  The same goes for cropped shirts.   I am especially proud of the dress below because its both cut off out and mesh!  Source: Forever21.com

3.  Slouchy or harem pants.  The name speaks for itself.  Source: Nordstrom.com

Family Photos

I have known these two good looking kids for pretty much my whole life.   Tonia and Dennis have been happily married for five years, and now have a beautiful ten month old Baby Evan.

Because I am incapable of keeping things simple; for my first photo-shoot ever I chose not one but three people...    However, I think we spent more time laughing than actually taking pictures.

Thanks to the beautiful Evan, Tonia, and Dennis. I love you guys.  Also, thanks to Marianna and Tanya for helping out.

Made this one a while ago, inspired by the blue pants I purchased at that time...
