I "heart" Chicago

These hearts were put up all along Michigan Ave and other major downtown streets.  All are identical in size, but are painted and decorated in a wide variety of styles each showing the artists' and sponsors' take on hundreds of metal hearts.

As I was walking along-I thought... What if someone created a collage of the things that fill my heart? Would it be  filled with love, kindness, the reverence for the Gospel or pride, uncertainty, and fear of man?  Unfortunately; the second is often true.  Christ not only sees my every thought and act, He knows the motivation behind them.  Contemplating on this thought is so edifying! My mind's natural mode is to completely ignore this reality.

5  For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6  For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,7  because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so,
8  and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom. 8:5-8 (NASV)

8  Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9  The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Phil 4:8-9 (NASV)

Here and here are a couple of great sermons on the subject (in Russian).

P.S.  This was a fund raising campaign for heart disease, they all have plaques with corporate sponsors.  Compliments to the creativity of the organizers.
P.S.S. I am still trying to figure out the whole blogging thing, so please forgive my inconsistency in blog design and posts.  Nothing I have done so far has quite satisfied me... So stay tuned for more changes.

If Portland had that Chicago's idea wouldn't be as unique!
